No, it is just a term that means a person who has "gaydar" supposedly can sense when someone is gay.But "gaydar" is not always an accurate sense and often is based on stereotypes rather then some extra sensory perception.But for many gay men who have "gaydar" it has a somewhat 50/50 success rate in spotting other gay men.

Gaydar is an abbreviation for gay radar, which means the ability (that is not 100% effective) for a gay person to notice another gay person.

It is something I think may be internal, some gay people have and some str8 people have (mostly Gay people though). For me it's something that can't be explained, I usually can tell if someone is Gay or Lesbian 90% of the time (for me). It's an ability that I have because I'm Gay to be able to tell if someone else is Gay. It's not always right but mostly it is for me. It's like superman with his Ex-Ray vision just something I have (and most Gay's have). It's not learned you either have it or you don't, like the color of your eyes.

People like to believe that they can figure out who is gay and who is straight just by being near them. Like they have radar or something. So they call it gaydar.

firstly it wouldnt matter if you were gay or not hun.
secondly, gaydar is the term given to someones 'ability' to sense if somebody is gay or not. its a shortened term for gay radar.

The ability to tell if someone is gay or not by the way they look, or even more so, the vibe that they put off. Kinda judgemental...but you know if you got it, and when you got it! :)
