James Brown.
He gave me the impetus to just go out and do whatever I really wanted. I was a DJ and dancer back in the 70's largely on the back of 'Sex Machine' (& a few others).... had some REAL good times to that track!

Gerald Ford had little impact. Obvious when you consider that I am a UK resident. But he seemed like a nice bloke, who had a real go fixing a bad mess and then at making some good in the world - which is probably not something that American's seek in a president.

However I have to agree a little with some of Xamanators comments, above.

My Father, Dr. Berkeley G. Burrell, was Chairman of the "D.C. Commitee to Elect President Ford" in 1976.

Not really into music,so it's not James Brown.Would like to think U.S politics did not affect me.By their very nature they do .So I'm afraid it must be Gerald Ford.

Both of them made fools of themselves. In Ford's case it was accidental, stumbling and falling over, in Brown's case (I'm talking about Ready, Steady Go!) in the late sixties) it was because the atmosphere went to his head and made him lose control of himself. Something to avoid in either case.
