Went to our local spa store to purchase something to lower the ph level in our hot tub. The salesman told us that they were out and he suggested using baking soda instead. Will this be safe for the hot tub and if so, how much to use?

Baking soda is used to raise the PH. The salesman was wrong. There is a chemical to lower the PH. I would ask a pool supply.

What they sell you at the spa place IS baking soda. It's just packaged different and costs more. Use the same amount. Buy a big box of baking soda in the laundry section of the supermarket.
