Yes, alligators have tougnes. They are essential in swallow their prey whole and are actually quite big.

Kind of...it isnt that big,its like a big blob of rubber I think..they use it to block the entrance of their throat when they open their mouth under water,so that water doesnot enter them(i.e. to avoid suffocating).They usually open their mouth underwater to catch fishes,but I'm not sure...
