You're in a group, generally open and friendly with everyone... Become friends with the guys, just to have them later tell you they have feelings for you and you end up getting hit on by persistant guys that don't listen to "no thank you, I don't want to date" (they're nice, just not your type), and soon they start going weird (first attempts of being highly possesive and irrate, then later sulky, dark, and resentful).

And history repeats itself, with sometimes the most unexpected candidates (a large variety of guys... even ones already having girlfriends, have been told you are at the time dating someone else, etc).

Have straight and private conversation with each of the guys who hits on you, unwanted. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is tell the truth because you think you will be hurting their feelings. But you are actually doing them a favor by saying something like "man, you are a good guy, but I'm just not feelin' it. Let's not ruin a good friendship".

if they are true friends, they will appreciate your honesty.

Be very upfront to start. Say, "No thank you, I'm not interested in you, but I wish you luck." Don't change your message, don't flirt. The first time they step over the line, or get sulky, etc., don't engage them. Any attention rewards their behavior, so don't try to reason with them. Repeat, "I'm not interested in you," and withdraw. You're dealing with immature guys, I'm sorry to say.

You could also ask your girlfriends if there's anything you're doing to encourage these guys, and really listen, as they might give you some insight. You might be flirting or encouraging them because you like the attention, whether you realize it or not.
