It means On Target Earnings as others have explained. If you get as far as a job offer, the employer is legally obliged to state the basic salary (ie not just the OTE) in your contract and at the job offer stage. Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

It means On Target Earnings. It is usually expressed as e.g.Basic salary £15,000 OTE £25,000 Which means you have targets to reach, usually sales to gain the higher rates. If the ad just says an OTE figure it will probably mean the basic salary is lousy and you have to work like a slave to earn a decent wage.

Opportunity To Earn

It means ON TARGET EARNINGS. e.g: If it states £20,000 OTE, it means you can earn up to that amount if you hit the performance quota. However, if you don't get your bonuses you may be left short changed. Check with the employer for the basic wage.
