I know what your saying! Look he has picked you out, to lead as a example!
There comes good or bad from this, depending on how you use it.
You might say this is bull crap and i quit.I'm tired of him picking on me or why only does he blame me for everything?
or you might say,
Hey he really likes me and cares for me and tries to show me how to be a leader, role model, friend, trainer, the person that is capable of getting it done, the one he can count on! The one that he makes sure you wont do with out BUT really in most cases your boss wont say, show, tell his feelings or thoughts about you. That's a great boss!Great leader.
Great boss always has room for great leader.A great boss will work most of their career / life, to find, this one great partner that shares same interests and works great together as one.
Till then he will have to work& train the people he has to work with plus recruit more to maybe find that one or two leaders.
The way they might train their employees is to pick one employee that they think would be cable WITH training and be more ruff on you than rest because he knows that you have what it takes to become a leader.so he might single you out,he might not tell you to do something,or how to do it.but you have the brains to figure it out to get job done.
A employer might also look at you and tell you to stop throwing yellow paper away,(when you allready know not to do it from day 1)You might ask why does he do that to me?well cause lazy joe next to you, when he was talking to you wouldnt pay attention so he had to say it to you for lazyjoe to get it,not to throw yellow paper away.not saying its right but they tend to use you as a example.plus at same time are testing you, and your reactions, to a subject that might be stressfull,to see how well you would handle it if you were under pressure.
just go back to work if you miss something, make it your job to find out what you missed, plus work hard be a team leader and pay attention to your boss cause they will take you to top and maybe someday you will be able to do the same for somebody under you.
If you get a warning take it as good, that you have learned for there, or even your next job what to do and not do.
Then pay attention, attention, attention, learn from the best,do your best and you can succeed.
You should feel honored to have a boss like that cause he puts alot of trust in you and believes you have what it takes to be a leader. now use this warning as a tool to work harder.
edit: sounds like you have been trying hard to figure out your problem with your boss maybe this time it might be to late but Dont give up try harder to find out what it takes to be best. You might look for a new job with your time off but next time if your not sure about something about your job then ask, ask, ask,and pay attention! Not every job is for everybody there is a job just for you.You will be a leader someday but you might spend rest of your life searching but you will find.good luck
spend more time worrying about what to do instead of what not to do.

If you are up to a written warning you need to speak with someone in HR. In general most large companies have specific policies regarding discipline. Research what the policy states ask HR, possibly this manger does not like you. Or are you really screwing something up. If you had a file for over an hour and he had a problem with this explain why you had it that long. Make sure you document all of your conversations in a journal keep it at home. Usually there should be some form of coaching followinf verbal warnings. Warnings shoul be given in a group meeting. Sounds like you need to start looking for a new job before you don't have a job.

I am a manager and he seems a bit behind. Like your mistakes are teaching him what he wants. Try a talk with him.
