Iraq is a rather artificial formation that consists of 3 very different political/social groups of people - Kurds, Shiites and Sunnites. Governing them all is a very difficult task. Sudam was a very strict ruler, and nobody dared to do or say anything. This authority/system was destroyed by foreign troops, and it led to a civil war between the 3 above mentioned groups. Hundreds of thousands people have been killed, and nobody knows when it will be finished.
During Sudam's imprisoning by Americans, a joke appeared: "Americans don't ask Sudam about biological weapon more, now they want to know, how did he manage to rule Kurds, Shiites and Sunnites together".
! I have another question: were the previous rulers better?

Well I would have preferred he be fed into that giant shredder so that he gets a taste of his own medicine, but any death for him is a good thing and long overdue.
Of course he deserved it, he was a brutal mass murderer, who among many other things decided it would be nice to use chemical weapons to wipe out an entire village if innocent civilians, women, children. It would be a crime against humanity to let him continue to breathe in the world.

No, I isn't. The humanistic approach to equitable justice was not used.
George Bush and the gang ought to take courses in legal evidence. The statements he made about "chemical and biological warfare to destroy the US" were made in the privacy of his chamber.
No one else was suppposed to be listening in! Sadaam, if you are still alive, don't talk to the walls and the walls wont talk back to you.
