Detergent Wash: Create your own homemade jewelry cleaner by using a small bowl or a sink with warm water and any mild liquid detergent that is used around the home. Proceed to brush the pieces with an eyebrow brush (or a similar substation such as a toothbrush) while they are being soaked. Then you should transfer the gold jewelry to a strainer and then proceed to rinsing it off with warm water and you will have cleaner gold jewelry.

Get some alluminium foil,2-3 tablespoons of washing soda and boiling water and place in a saucepan.Submerge the chain into the solution and directly onto the foil. The mixture will bubble and all the dirt will just come off. A soft toothbrush will get rid of the dirt in between links.

There are many ultrasonic jewelery cleaners on the market. Most jewelery stores will clean it for a nominal fee. I know one girl that put her chain in a glass with an effervescent denture cleaner.

Try mixing water with baking soda, then let your jewelry soak for a while. Then rinse.

someone told me use toothpaste and an old toothbrush....gently rub it on and rinse.....careful not to scratch.....so a soft bristled brush probably would work well. Alot of toothpastes supposedly whiten your teeth - so they should work.
