I do spend lots of time with my boys, I love them dearly, but the holidays should also include family, specially if your family its small. I guess i am just dreaming about our family being closer than what it really is. Being single its extremely lonely and I guess I expect them to also be considerate and treat us the same as others. Not leave us out. How sad I feel it is for family members to do this.

I am sorry that you feel this lonely. It is normal to feel that way, especially people who are so close to you ignore you...but it's okay girl.

Shake off the dust and move on, realize that you can make it on your own and that there are other people out there who wuld like you to feel loved, just let go girl.

This life is to short, so spend it wisely.

I too was a single parent with 2 boys and my brother and sis in law did the same thing. Now I am remarried with a baby. When I think back, I realize that they didn't really ignore me, they just didn't know how to approach me or talk to me. They felt uncomfortable around me because I was divorced and a single mom. They didn't realize that all they had to do was treat me like any other person. At that time when I felt lonely, I put extra special attention into my boys. We did silly things together all the time. We went to the mall, went to the movies, and just did fun things all the time to keep us all occupied. It worked and brought me and my boys closer to each other.

The problem may be that you are lonely, being a single parent and you must remember they have other parts of their lives apart from you and you children.Go easy on them and I hope one day soon you meet some one great to share your family with. Just remember they are busy as well, be careful you don't make them feel a little guilty about being a happy family. Keep your chin up and smile things will get better. Good luck

My brother did the same thing to me when things were hard for me, or at least he thought that they were hard for me. It really hurt me, but once I asked him about it, it all got worked out.
I would suggest you talk to him and see what is going on.

Well do they ignore the kids or just you? They really have no obligation to you, only the kids.
