With initial disbelief and then gradual acceptance, and if I've recovered from the shock quickly enough I reciprocate!
When I moved here to the Pacific Northwest I was stunned that strangers talked to each other and showed conscientiousness, respect and kindness. I've gradually come to accept that people can be kind, but the right environment is needed.

I do say thank you and I do perform kind deeds for total strangers. but sometimes i feel strange when someone does something nice. Kindness from strangers is very rare now, so I feel there might be a motive behind it.

I react to kindness with kindness.....if I can't return the kindness than I pass it on

it makes me happy to know that there are still some kind, genuine people left in this cruel, cruel world.
acutally the world isnt that cruel but just as it seems someone is good, they actually arnt.
i trust people too eaisly.
