I am unclear about "type equation" meaning.

Tollens' test, osazone formation & Fehling's test, take advantage of the ease of oxidation of aldehydes (ie. reducing sugars) by using Ag(+) and Cu(2+) as oxidizing agents (phenylhydrazine hydrochloride for osazone formation, Cu for Fehling's, Ag for Tollen's).
