Different people require different amounts of sleep. Usually, the younger you are the more sleep you need but again it's just relative to many factors.

If you feel like you aren't getting enough sleep you may have insomnia or mania or some other condition that is interfering with your ability to get rest. I reccomend getting some literature or maybe even talking to your doctor about this. Sleep is very important and you need to make sure you get enough. Also, exercise and good nutrition will help improve your sleep and stabilize your biological rhythms. Just research it online and make sure you get more sleep if you need it. I need about 8-9 hours. Some people need up to 10hours. Some people only need 5 hours. You should just pay close attention to your needs and your energy level.
Good luck!

Although the optimal sleep time from person to person varies(depending on many variables such as age, how active you are, etc) one way to find out if you are sleep deprived is to look for certain symptoms. Symptoms of sleep deprivation include irritability, exhaustion, depression, and loss of memory. Although each person is different, it is recommended that young children get around 12 hours sleep per night. Teenagers should get around 10 hours. Young adults (18-40) should get around 7-8 hours of sleep. Finally, elderly people should get at least 6.

As you can see, the older you are, the less sleep you require. However, it's important at any age to get enough sleep. Coffee doesn't substitute proper rest. :)

The amount of sleep a person needs depends on many factors, such as age, health, mental exertion and the amount of recent physical exertion. Teenagers need an average of about 9 hours of sleep and infants 16 hours and adults 7-8 hours of sleep. On average between 7-9 hours of sleep.

On average 7 to 8 hours per day. If you don't sleep it will mess with your body. When I don't get enough sleep my eyes don't focus and if I force them I will get a headache. Consult a doctor

seven to eight hours a day is the norm. many older people sleep less, while younger ones tend to sleep less until it builds up and then they sleep for a long time to catch up. however, ther are some who survive on just a few hours a day of sleep, but either nap for short periods, or rest quietly to relax and get rested that way.
