Keep your friends close, but keep your wallet up your butt. I think that was in the godfather.

It shouldn't.
Money does not measure the amount of care in the person's heart. It can actually be the opposite. A fake facade that the person can put on, and money attracts others like dead roadkill to flies.
Now, money could be in a very good relationship, and that's why it is so difficult to see those who are using others for their personal satisfaction. Friends should be able to rely on each other.
I believe that every friendship should go through a test. Usually, these things happen naturally, as if someone needs money for a pay phone or needs a ride to some place, etc. I don't think that you should just go around seeing if people are your friends, but I think that when this vital point comes, then it will become clear the intentions of the other person.

Not normally. But people pretty much make friends with people in their own income level. I have a very close friend who has a great deal of money & I don't so we can't go on trips together & sometimes we don't see each other (I'm single; she isn't) for lunch or a movie or whatever because I can't afford it & I won't let her pay my way. But I wouldn't dream of determining who my friends are by how much income they have. I also have a friend who's on welfare. We just visit a lot & go to McDonalds.
If someone is checking out your financial status before deciding whether to form a relationship or not, drop them. They are superficial.

NO IT DOES NOT!!! You know why? It's all about the personality...you might be in middle school or high school, but out in reality everyone struggles for the riches. Everyone has different philosophies for friendship though and that i will not interfer with. Just accept everyone who accepts you though - good advice i received from my father.

It shouldn't, but it often (sadly) does. True friendship doesn't rely on money, superficial friendship might.
