Bill, Jo and Jonas worked in the same lab at one time. Bill came up with the initial idea...mainly because of Jo, whose father had died in an F5 when she was young. They were working on ideas to learn how to find out what happened in a tornado so they could invent an early warning system.

Jo doesn't get the idea, it was Bill's idea and he got it because he wanted to help people by knowing exactly how a tornado worked and gave them a quicker time to warn people.

well acta=ually her ex husband had already thought of dorothy the problem was amking dorothy go up into the tornado joe realizes how to do it after her aunts house gets blown down and her sculpture which is an metal mobile is upside down gives joe the idea i hope this helps you get an A

She gets the idea for making dorothy's thingys taking off from looking at a wind mobile moving in the wind at her aunt's house.
