My 14 year old daughter reads all the time. She likes sci-fi and stories about werewolves and vampires. She recently brought some books home that are about vampires but she bought them from the romance section I flipped through the pages and found out they are pure smut. Luckily she hadn't read them yet and I am returning them. I don't want her reading anything too dark either. You can't rely on choosing books from the teen section. I have found some pretty raunchy books there also. I don't have time to sit and read everything she has so I was wondering if there is a site that would give me an idea of the content of books.

a good way to find out about many books is at the library. Amazon and ebooks, as well as using google or other search engines on the internet can help you out tremendoously..Also a book dealer like borders or other book shops can give you an idea of what some of their books are like and can guide you in the right direction. A good rule of thumb is: Read your inside and back covers for an idea of what your getting....Usually they have some story information in them that is about the book,,,:) :) :)

Yes. Amazon.com. Just input children's sci-fi books. What I love about this site is that readers can rate books & many go into great detail about the book. Click on the book you're interested in & the next page will show stars if its been rated. If so, somewhere on the page click that you want to see the reviews. Either that or I think you might be able to click on the stars themselves but I don't remember. You can also input a books name & if its on the site you can write a review. Maybe you might want to do it on the books your daughter got. Its enough just to say that they contain rauch or whatever; you don't have to go into the plot.

Many book sites allow you to view overleaf content. For e-Books go to news groups.
