I am not a doctor but recently has a cochlear ear implant done. I learnt that a nerve of the chin can be a result of nerve ending near the ear can affect this. Possible infection there.

I suggest finding out a qualitified kinesologist therapist (alternative therapy) who will help you by reasoning or deducition IF there is an area affected of nerve impulses or infection or both.

Otherwise consult a doctor for conventional means by an CAT scan or X-RAY.

A kinesologist will possibly tell you a result within an hour than a doctor taking about 3 weeks to set a time with an hospital and more money when the bill comes too.

Hope this helps.
