I am not in theater, daughter is, and you may think this is lame as an answer, but there were many, many sort of longish mono's from henry fonda in on golden pond, you gotta be able to do an old man, a kinda grumpy old man but there were many and to all there was a message that was obvious and an underlying one as well.....good luck...
