We seem to be looking for the same thing. I recently had this question answered with: New York University (Degree path of Film and Television at Tisch - at least, that's the one that suited me), UCLA, and University of Southern California. I've also found Pennsylvania University of Arts (probably not a bad back up) and National University that also offer this path, but at least one person highly recommended to stay clear of National University.
Do seperate searches for each one. I just checked out NYU and the clock is ticking if you want to start classes next fall. So hurry up and start sending your applications to each one of them. Hope this helps and good luck!

For film directing and screenwriting, which are two of your current questions, you really ought to check out USC, the University of Southern California. It's a private school and the tuition is steep, but if you get good grades or don't have a massive family payroll, you might qualify for some scholarships of theirs.
George Lucas just donated $175 million to their already thriving film program, of which he and Ron Howard are both alumni. USC has its own student-run college television station, aired in Los Angeles, which is constantly voted the best college station in the nation.
It also has a screenwriting program (major and minor), a big pool of acting students to borrow for readings and student films, a diverse student population, etc.
And, of course, it's right in LA, film capital of the world. If you wanna go into film, even "just" as a screenwriter, you're going to have to end up there eventually, so you might as well go there early on to make sure you can take the atmosphere. It's not the most magical of cities outside of the film industry being there.

Just to clarify that the school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is called "The University of the Arts." They offer a major in "Writing for Film & TV." Do check them out:

do now not thoroughly low-cost going for the time of the drama college route. really through very truth they are more desirable geared interior the route of theatre does not propose that you in ordinary words isn't taught something sensible. a sturdy preparation can make each and each and every and all the version. seem at infinite the British actors who make it on action image and television. optimal of the individuals have all been through usual drama college and portion of the reason they are functional is through utilising the very truth (as right as their skills), they have taken the concepts they have learnt from theatre and transferred them to television and action image.
