It's possible that you are running more programs than you were in the past therefore the processor is getting hot faster or if you live in a dusty environment or with lots of pet hair that may be your problem. Do you have a laptop? Have you dropped it at all? My computer is a Sony VAIO, 9 months old and it's dove off of the couch a few times and it's now noisier than it was when it was brand new, but I figure it's from dropping it. Also, Sony's are notorious for running hotter than most laptops. If you have debri on your fan, have a professional help you clean it; don't attempt to dissemble it by yourself. By the way don't use the "air in a can" crap! That's for cleaning off the keyboard keys not the fan, think about it; if you blow the air onto the dirty fan, where's the dirt going to go? Into your hard drive and it's going to sit on the processor and all of the computer circuits and chips, that's not good.

Try cleaning the fan. Dust gets stuck on the blades. This messes the balance. Clean the blades with a dust rag. You may have to use a slightly damp rag or duster. If you use a damp rag, make sure it is not wet enough to drip water onto any electrical parts of the machine. After you are sure the fan is completely dry put the cover back on.

Another reason may be the screws holding the fan in place may be loose tighten them.

BE CAREFUL WORKING AROUND ELECTRICITY. Make sure you are grounded and the machine is off before you go near the internal parts of the machine. If you are unsure what you are doing, find some one that has experience in this area and you trust that person not to damage the machine. IF UNSURE GET HELP.

First thing's first....make sure it's the fan! I've worked on a lot of PC's for people who have thought it was the fan (putting your ear next to it even makes it more convincing). However, you need to make sure it's not the hard drive, which can make a lot of different kinds of sounds when it's failing. Simply unplug the fan to find out.

If it is the fan, realize that they are dirt cheap. You can get a decent one (look at Antec or Coolmax) for less than $10. Look on Newegg or Pricewatch.

Even better, call the manufacturer. Since it's only a couple months old, it should be under even the most basic of warranties...

Number one reason for this = You have recently bought a DELL computer. Dell used to be great for quality but for the last 2 years they have fell right off the cliff so to speak.
Number TWO = You don't have a Dell and you just need to open up your computer case and blow it out good with a can of air.
In either case use the can of air and clean the inside of your computer. If that doesn't quiet it down then your fan is probably going downhill.
Hope the air works for ya
Goodluck

Don't worry, its simple problem. Switch off all connections. Open the cover of the CPU. Take a screw driver and fix the fan tightly.
