In the world of jazz, which I listen to, the 70's actually had the worst jazz music out of any decade. Everything turned to electronics and rock, so pure instrumental jazz became unpopular, and the jazz that remained became diluted by electronics and sounded awful. It's rare to find a really good jazz album from anytime in the 1970's. Miles Davis actually spent 5 years in the 70's not recording music, just stayed home in Malibu and doing drugs and sex, lol.

60s were tops with me, though I like a lot of music today -- including Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Buckethead, Bjork, KMFDM, Cake, Soul Coughing, and my newest favorite K'Naan. Not the usual playlist for a 55-yr-old, white, middle class, small town, high school biology teacher, but I'm heavily influenced by my three twenty-something sons. I taught THEM about K'Naan, though.
