if you are going to try the vinegar method it is inexpensive try this; clean your coffee pot at the same time. mix 1/3 white vinegar, 2/3 water and run this through the coffee maker. when it finishes brewing pour it down the disposal or drain it will clean the grease out of that too! or mix it with some cold water and wipe down the stove and counter tops. i don't have the fry odor thing but i use the coffee pot every day so i do this about every 6 weeks and don't have any more drain troubles! good luck! happy new year!

First, I fry 90% of the time (hey, I'm busy!).

Second, I did have the same problem bu found the solution:

Clean your utensils as quickly as possible after use. Oil (specially burnt ones) gives a lot of aroma, that's why grillers clean the grill as much as they can, even during cooking.

Clean the stove, walls, etc. that had oil splatter from cooking (hey! I'm a messy cook!) if you do get them.

Open your windows and air out the kitchen, five minutes would do a lot of good. Trust me, I live in North Dakota and five minutes means frost bite... at least my house smells clean... and freezing.

well febreeze is a good idea - but find out where it's coming from - did grease spill on your stove? maybe on the sides of it or your hood vent area over your stove? wipe it all done really well with some appliance cleaner and see if that helps.

I haven't actually tried this myself - so forgive me if it's wrong.
BUT - someone once told me to put white vinegar in water, and boil it, and this would take care of the smell. Perhaps it's worth a try.

Fan your house? Or open a door? Febreeze works well too...Just don't overuse it because the smell is intense

the smell may be within some of the items in your house. such as couches, chairs, carpet, curtains. you may have to shampoo and wash all of those types of things. you may even have to wipe down your walls. especially the kitchen.
