All new video cards are DX 9.0 compatible. They can be PCI, AGP or the newer PCI-E version. You can google your particular card to find out if it is DX 9.0 capable.

Almost all video cards now are compatible with Direct X 9.0. but for vista Direct X 10 is needed and only a couple of video cards from NVIDIA and ATI support this now .
