Why is everything in society so urbanized?

The music, the entertainment, the fashions, the mannerisms...everything is "urban". WHY?

Due to the rapid increase of population in the city,you have different people coming from all over the world and within the country(eg.America). there is a fusion of different cultures and everything changes giving way to a new way of life. Thus the urbanized everything

Looking at the system through a sociological lense, it would seem society has become so urbanized, because urbanization is the seemingly natural progression of capitalism, and as a result the structure around the economy has been shaped in order to fit the parameters of the economic system. Urbanization creates more consumption than rural lifestyles, where there are greater numbers of vestiges to economic traditionalism. since capitalism does best in situations where culture promotes consumption instead of long term resource management....since the general population will be workers, it is benefical for capitalists to have the wages which are given to the workers as payment used immediately, then as a result the social necesary time of labor reproudction is lower creating more surplus labor creating more profit.

If this worked better in a rural setting, the economic substructure would influence the superstructure to remain rural. since it does not, society is much more urbanized.

i'm guessing you're talking about western society....in which case the majority of the population since the turn of last century has resided in the cities, ergo the majority

of the population is urban, and so are their norms and social mores
