I have mixed feelings about Saddam's death. The idea of hanging anyone bothers me. I also know that he need to be held accountable for his actions. I don't have a better alternative to offer. It just leaves me sad that there is so much evil in the world and our only answer is execution. It is a sad ending to a sad chapter in history.

Well, first of all, Iraq is worse now, so that doesn't even enter into my equation....
Though I believe that Saddam was a murderer, I think that any violent death of any human being depletes all of us. The blood thirsty hordes have spoken here on Answers, and their comments sicken me and make me feel that we have a long long long way to evolve if we ever hope to reach our true potential as cognizant beings.
That said, I also fear reprisals by the "friends" of Saddam. Who knows what kooky group may now decide to "punish" the US for its crimes against Saddam??
Also, as I stated in another answer earlier, Saddam was just a piece on the board game of US politics. He was our "friend" and ally, we gave him weapons, including bacteriological and gasses. He made the mistake of thinking that he could trust the US governments not to invade his country. Oh well, if you lie with dogs, you come up with fleas.....

I believe that his death is very appropriate. And it should be aired on ALL networks. The public around the world need to see this. The bringing on of his death an destruction. Would we have not wanted to see the death of hitler? Maybe from a military standpoint, it should be a moral booster some what. His death is technicly a victory for the US. Anyways....i'm glad he's gone. Now lets focus on the next.

I am saddened by the fact that we will be inundated with questions about how we feel about his death for the next two weeks. He is dead, I am happy, there is one less mean, rotten person which makes room for better people who value human lives. There is no need for the Saddams of the world, and I think that everyone should take a few moments to think how they effect others. Am I a jerk? Do I treat people with respect? Do I choose to go out of my way to antagonize others?

Saddam was a murderous scumbag who killed a lot of Iraqis - and I'm sure most folks in that country are glad to have him gone!
With that said, I'm sure they don't appreciate the American occupation either, they'd probably be more than happy to have us gone, so they can straighten out their differences on their own, without foreign interference.

i feel nothing. it just saddens me that humans are gloating about it. he did nothing to Americans. America was allies with Saddam at one time. he hurt his own country men, woman and children. let them reap in the justice that they waited so long for. and thank you for defending freedom. god bless you.

Conflicted. I can't pinpoint why his death has bothered me. I know this man killed thousands but something seems very strange about his death sentence.
