Killing is always wrong but if someone is so bad that just by existing can affect society and humanity in an evil way then I believe that exceptions have to be made therefore making it the better between two evils and a very hard decision to make. I salute the Iraqi judges for their courage.

I think the execution was just, but the problem is that the Neo-Con talking heads are saying that all the violence in Iraq was somehow predicated on Saddam being alive, and once he was executed, the violence would miraculously dry up... Ummmm... WHAT? We destabilized an already faltering nation with a factionistic, totalitarian regime, whos only stability came from the fear that Saddam wrought.
Now we have a civil war on our shoulders, and blood on our hands, and Saddam dying isn't going to change that.

Who are we to judge whether it is right or wrong given the circumstances. For sure, he is the first head of state in the world to be hung in recent history. Nonetheless it is a message to the head of states around the world, that they should think twice for their action. Unfortunately, some dictators who are big, rich, powerful and nuke equipped may be immune to such standard. But hey, who said the life is fair.

I think it would have been more appropriate if he had died in the same manner in which he killed so many people. For instance, use some form of chemical weapon (which he said he never possessed at all ... but used on the Kurds during his reign) or torture him for hours on end (which he said he never did, but has hundreds of hours of videotape of "approved" measures against anyone who dissented against him). Saddam may be dead, but his manner of death does not equal the manner of his authorized exterminations of numerous Iraqi people.

Of course he should have been executed. The 147 murders he was convicted of was just the tip of the iceberg. Now he can join his sons....roasting for eternity.

**Video: Drudgereport.com-It's from someones cell phone, but you can see everything but the snap of his dirty rotten neck.
***"neo-cons (as you describe them) never said the violence would wane with the execution of Saddam, quite the opposite. Get your facts straight.

He needed to be punished for his crimes. However, I am against the death penalty. I feel he should have spent the rest of his life in prison.
