Why are American women *not* in demand with foreign men, while American men *are* with foreign women?

Recent debate has focused on US men preferring foreign women over US women.

This situation has become so rife in recent years that American women attempted to pass legislation to stop the market for American men marrying foreign women:

Why are US women not in similar demand with foreign men and why is there no market for them overseas? Surely with the massive demands they are able to make and the massive payouts they receive in divorce they are a superior product and we should be exporting them or they would be at least in some sort of demand rather than none.

I'll add that the 10% divorce rate between American men and foreign women as opposed to the 50% divorce rate between American men and women, supports the idea that foreign women are not exploitative as American women say, or at least not as exploitative as American women.

The fact that the marriage rate between American men and Women being the lowest ever in history at the last census indicates that American men are choosing NOT to marry American women.

The evidence you need is in the snarky answers of the women who posted. They're just so gosh-darn "independent" that a foreign man can't handle them! Because that's what every man wants in a relationship: a never-ending struggle just to agree on something. No wonder guys married to American women die so young.

Or the one who talked about foreign men hitting on her. Hahahaha! Yeah, they'll hit on you; it's pretty common knowledge among European men that American chicks are easy. They'll take it because they can get it, but they're not offering to marry you, are they? Would you want to marry someone like Kj who posted above me?

American women are much richer than non-American men, but they're not going to want to marry a poor foreigner in the same sort of numbers as American men.

LOL...reading what some of the women above have posted as answers. First off, let's understand that there is no such thing as a "mail order bride"...there hasn't been for over 20 years. These girls sign up at dating agencies specifically for foreign men that, otherwise, are just like any other dating agency you sign up for here in the states. The difference that guys will find out when contacting them is that these girls want something different than American women, and they are serious about it. They want a loyal husband and a family (two things they can't find in their own countries)...not a walking ATM for their shopping sprees. Sure...there are some looking for a green card. But statistically, a lot fewer looking for a green card than American women who are looking to take her soon-to-be ex-husband for all he's worth. The divorce stats already posted (10% vs 50%) speak volumes to this.

Conversely, the reason there are no agencies set up for foreigners to meet American women to marry is because nobody wants to put up with them. Feminists make poor wives because every time it comes to the point where she needs to follow the lead of her husband it turns into a debate. Men get tired of debates real fast...some women seem to thrive on them.

Wait... you are telling me that foreign women want American men? hahahha they can have them! I'm not sure that foreign men are any better.

As for foriegn men supposedly not wanting American women... that may be due to the fact that American women are very independent and focused on their own rights and responsibilities, while in other cultures, women can be more subsurvient to men.

The foreign women you speak of are being taken advantage of as mail order brides or worse yet put into the underground sex slave trade, as models. It violates everything America stands for as a place of refuge.

These Eastern European, Asian, Latina and African women are being beaten and abused, while they are held as slaves or simply brutalized by the men that actually marry them. We will not take a step backward in time and will defend those we find.That piece of legislation is going back to the legislature and will be passed in light of the exposure of slavery being practiced on our shores!

Most American women are not subservient and know how to steer clear of men who would take advantage of them in that manner! Besides we don't need green cards and Will Call police and Feds. :^)

The "IMBRA" laws refer specifically to "mail order brides." It's not that American men are in such "demand," it's that these women "want" American men because they want a green card. Most of the people, male and female, that live in the countries where these "mail order brides" come from, (Russia, Ukraine, etc.-severely economically depressed countries that make the U.S look like paradise) would do anything to come to America, including enter into a loveless marriage with WHO CARES WHO, just to get here.Many people from these countries (especially Eastern Asia) have entered into the equivalent of indentured servitude to get here, and that's what these arrangements are equivalent to. THAT'S why American men are so "in demand." And some American men are suckers enough to think it's "true love," because of a few letters and phone calls. PLEASE! And if you think these women are in it because American men are thought to be the "cream of the crop" on the international stage, you are very naive and sadly deluded. You don't REALLY think these girls have no motivation other than to find "handsome American man with whom to make happy family" do you? Or that they fall in love with these men before they even meet? It seems to me that these "marriage broker" sites prey on the loneliness and desperation of men with very little "social collateral"--not desirable enough to find a woman the "regular" way. But, in a way, it's a "marriage of convenience" for both.
As for American women, there is no need for them to "sell" themselves off overseas, or entice a mate from an economically depressed hell hole with the lure of American citizenship. We prefer true love to contrived, "arranged" marriages. The reason that these "marriage broker" sites are not more popular with women is the same reason that prostitution (BUYING sex, that is) is not more popular with woman. It's not needed.

I don't know about the US, but I'm from the UK and my husband is European. You sound a little bitter and twisted and trying to make yourself feel like you have some hold over women. Give up now, because hanging around these boards, desparately seeking to make women look bad is not doing you any favours. Take care.

I don't know what "statistics" show, but my personal radar indicates differently. Everywhere I go foreign guys are hitting on me. It happens several times a day, in all sorts of normal settings.
