In general, people associate what life and people are by what they see on TV and on the radio. White people always have a good house, though poor white people are looked upon as white trash or lazy. Hispanics are looked upon as manuel workers, black people on TV or radio are listed as drug users, dealers, promiscuos people or thugs and shooters. Who has taught us this idea ? TV and radio.Unless musicians and rappers change there lyrics and stop talking about all the "Negative" things then people will change there views.

I think that the we have made progress in racism, but there is still so much that needs to be done. In California I feel that racism is targeted more at Hispanics than African Americans, though. I think that if you see this a lot then it may be racism, and it may be the community that you live in.
Although, I do feel that at times minorities (I am Jewish, so this isn't pointing a finger) are so sensitive and do throw small actions out of proportion. I have been accused of being racist just because I am white, and I assure you I am not. I hope that with time you will feel more comfortable, and I think that the worlds eyes are slowly being opened to the problem of racism.

Believe it or not all people can experience racism. People can be somewhat biased to those who are different. I'm Caucasian and once went into a Chinese restaurant, not a neighborhood one but one tucked away in Chinatown where only Chinese people eat. They refused to serve me. I sat there for 20 min and everyone else in the place was getting their orders and no one would even come over to my table. Racism here will be naturally phased out when we make contact with civilizations on other planets because we will become the people of the Earth and they will be the people of planet whatever. Then maybe the people of planet whatever will experience racism.

I don't know where you live, but not all people are like that. Unfortunately I don't think you will see this ignorance end in our lifetime. I was raised roman catholic with a strong presence of prejudice in my family. It's 2 generations later and I have raised a child who see's no color in people's hearts. I must be honest and tell you that the "N" word was something I grew up with and I, a white Italian girl, takes offense to the word. I realize it is being used in a different context amongst your culture in younger generations, but I am offended by it and won't stand to hear it used amongst my son's friends in my home. I find it to be degrading and unacceptable no matter who's mouth it passes from. I don't understand why a culture would try so hard to be treated as equals and get away from the stereotype of that word only to use it on themselves. It's sickening and quite frankly I think it's that mentality that does scare people sometimes. I bet your relatives going back to your greats and beyond would be so disappointed in that.

Well, sometimes store owners or employees are leery of any kids in the store and keep a closer eye on them no matter what their race is. And some mothers are overly protective of their kids when it comes to strangers. So it's difficult to tell if they're being racist from your description or just paranoid.
But I do see enough racism from all races (some blacks are racists when it comes to whites, too). It would seem it wouldn't be so prevalent anymore, but there it is. Personally, I don't get it. I only feel threatened by someone when they act threatening around me, no matter their colour. People are people.

Racism is sometimes used to refer to preference for one's own ethnic group ,fear of foreigners (xenophobia), views or preferences against interbreeding of the races or of a specific group of people. Racism is bound to exists as long as some aliens come to our planet or some, so that we all unite together and call ourselves as Human Race and fight for justice. Y
Nature created human different accroding to the place, for example the africans are darker and there hair is curlier compared Caucasian who are fairer and hair is long, because those are the best physical parameter to survive from there place, i mean the Hot and cold climate.
Coming back to the issue again, we can bring law or impose or fine and so on and so many, but these are all changes which are external, i mean the peopel are not convinced or not able to understand the meaning unity(being different mean skin color, but the other things are same such as physical organ or emotional needs), So when we want to erdicate the world from this racism, not just based on skin color but also on the issue of cast and creed, asian or african or japanese, the change has to come from with in. I mean everyone has to understand that i am part of this planet called earth and my race is human, yet i am not different from other races like rodents or birds or so on, because we all belong to race called life and share the same planet called earth. So I think we have to go a long way to achieve that objective but i think with the help of science and technology that is not far away.
But as for now, what can i say to you is, you think about racism because you give a that for that, i mean you have a feeling of that ,dvision, so if we are looking for the change outside it may not come, but for now what you can do is you change yourself, never give room for that thought, i know its hard to change people but you can make difference, by not allowing racism inside your head, by making this place a step better place to live, don't you?
You may wonder what is that going to change by changing yourself, because small changes are the often lead to great and big changes.....i mean 99 to 100 is not a big change, but from none to 1 requires great effort, that is a great change, i hope you make a difference to your life as well as everyone around, also everyone who ever reads this article too.
Buddha... Jesus... Mohammed...are all one, if we understand that there is no racism in that world..
Thank you.

I think racism is SOOO WRONG!!! Well I cant really tell wether thats racism or not. But people need to grow up. It doesnt matter what color you are!!! I think racism shouldn't be an issue, but there is always some one who has a problem with colored skin. I DEFINITELY hope it ends. Its wrong.

not as long as there is racists out there it will never end.
just go about your day and never mind what others think of you, maybe they are just staring at you because you are beautiful, maybe because they are staring at you because of your color, no matter what it may be. don't let it bother you.
you are a special person in your own. stay close to your family and friends, thats what matters, is the people that love you and the people you can be with, talk to. have fun.
racists will always be there, never mind them.
smile!!

No - regardless of race creed or color it is a fact of life the change will only occur when youth overcomes the madness and it no longer matters.
