It is not a right. It is an obligation. Iraq invaded Iran and fought a war there for 8 years then they invaded kuwait. A lot of countries have invaded a lot of other countries and the US has stayed out of it until the other countries couldn't handle it and then we joined in to help out. We invaded Iraq for a reason. That purpose is done and I think we should leave now but we did not have a right to invade we had a responsibility.

America is the ONLY country in the world that has morals to go along with their super power status. That is why in so many situations they end up being the 'world police'. There is so much injustice in the world and nobody but America seems to care or be concerned about it. Who stepped up and told Iraq that it was not okay that they invade Kuwait? By and large it was America.

Another example... do you think China would care if Iran blew Israel off the map tomorrow? Of course not, as long as the oil fields of Iran stayed intact so that they could keep exporting oil to China. Where is China involved in the ongoing Israelis/Palestanian conflict? MIA???

I predict that the next 50 years will bring about much change. As much as I dread the thought, the U.S. may not always be the world's #1 super power. Their debt and incredible spending habits may ultimately weaken them in the long run vaulting China into the #1 world super power spot. You can bet that if/when that day comes that the world will be far worse off. The only people that the Chinese government cares about are the Chinese. They may have a fast-growing economy but they are a secular and closed society that can't even hardly tolerate a bit of free speech, let alone bring themselves to care about the rest of the world.

God Bless America - by the way I'm a Canadian proudly living in the U.S. (love both countries) and hopefully will gain U.S. citizenship as soon as I'm eligible.

It's all about POWER. Power gives one the right whether others like it or not. It's that plain and simple and very base. I'm not saying it is morally right. America has the power to invade. If Cuba, had the power they would do the same. Once America looses its power to invade, then America will stop invading other countries.

Frankly, I'm undecided on this question. Yes I believe that America did the right thing by bringing down Sadam but I still can't figure out why they are still there. Yes America is one of if not THE strongest country in the world. BUT, America is not the worlds police. Iraq did not ask America to jump in and save them. Hell, in some areas of Iraq, American soilders were killed. Not by the Al-Quaida, not by Sadam's Goons, but by normal citizens of Iraq. Why? Because they did NOT want America to intefere in there matters. They felt insulted. So no, I do not think that America has the right to invade other countries ANYMORE

You are young and idealistic. You believe in a strong sense of right and wrong. You believe that right and wrong are black and white issues that can be plainly seen by anybody with even a lick of sense.....you will get over this. After life beats you down for about fifteen years you will see that there are no simple answers.

If you want to amuse yourself later in life, write down your thoughts and feelings in a diary now and keep them for later. You will show yourself that you were right on some things and on others you will wonder just what you were thinking anyway.

The answer to your question is multifaceted and cannot be answered with any certainty on any level.....That being said, we ARE there. We DID invade. We ARE trying to rebuild. Let's not play the 'woulda coulda shoulda' game. What can we do to fix the problems NOW!.

America does NOT have the RIGHT. That is just the way our country is. The world knows that, yet you still ask. I was born and reside here in America...I like it...yet my government's politics are of the government...not of me. I'm an individual first and American second. I am a citizen on this planet who happens to reside in America. A proud American citizen ? Yes. Yet be careful not to blanket the thoughts of my government to all American individuals. I keep the same awareness of all lands and countries.

If you reside in another country and you think you might want to fly an airplane into a skyscraper - I strongly suggest you choose another country - maybe France or Spain - because, YES, the United States retains the right to respond swiftly and violently!!!!

as far as the middle east, i think September 11, 2001 is as sure a reason as any.

and for the rest of the world, if you have an army and start talking hatefully toward us, the united states has the full right to take preventative measures to insure the safety of united states citizens.

thats my opinion.

Every nation has a right to defend itself, even against future threats that are in the planning. It would be a grave error to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.
