Jenny, try this:
Note:
Before doing any of the maintenance steps outlined below make sure that your system is free from viruses and/or of any other undesirable Internet bugs, by running a thorough security scan of your machine. After you are through with it, go to Microsoft updates or Windows updates and download any and all available updates for both office and windows.
Now, you are ready for the following:
HOW TO DO A THOROUGH CLEAN UP (Windows XP)
While you are connected to the Internet do the following:
1. Click on tools ... Internet options. There you will see three buttons next to each other... “Delete Cookies” ... “Delete Files” and “Settings.” Also, below the settings button you will see another one “Clear history.”
2. Click on “settings” - go to “Edit” - Click on “select all” - Go to files, click delete and wait till all Internet trash files are gone.
3. Go back and click on “delete cookies” and wait till all cookies are gone
4. Go back and click on “Delete files,” put a check mark on the little white square shown on the small window that will open, click OK and wait for a little.
5. Go back and click on “Clear history”, click “yes” and you are done.
6. Now do a check disk and a defrag, then restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved. It is assumed that you know how to do that.
7. If the above steps don’t do the job, here is a little program that keeps your machine in shape and free from crashes:
Get on the web and go to http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/site; download the free trial program, familiarize your self with it and use it to clean up your registry automatically along with a sort of other helpful and useful maintenance chores. It is an excellent little program and does wonders with PC maintenance tasks and I strongly recommend it! It works on the background on its own automatically.
Here is how to clean website addresses from you browser bar:
While you are connected to Internet, go to “Tools” … “Internet Options,” “Content” tab … “Auto Complete button” … click on “clear forms” and you are finished.
Hope this helps!

I have Spyware Doctor, and sometimes it fights with the anti virus and/or firewall program that monitor the same system files which really put a drag on the ole puter. I had to disable Spyware Doctor from starting when Windows started, and simply run a scan with Spyware Doctor every so often. To disable Spyware Doctor from starting when Windows start do this. Go to the main Spyware Doctor screen. You will see five buttons on the side, Status, Start Scan, etc, choose the last one, Settings, click on it. Now you will see a list of options, the third one down says, Start Up Settings, uncheck Run at Windows Start Up. Chow

Spyware solutions are accual spaywares that will slow down your pc. Get rid of them. So are anti-viruses.
Back-up your files, and format your machine.
Re install windows, and get a good router. (Routers are good firewalls)
Go to Windows Update, and make sure it updates weekly
secure your account with a passwords on start up, and raise your Explorer internet security in your options menu.
Stay away from porn sites, do not accept any .exe files and always trust microsoft services.
and for god sakes,.. do not install search bars, weather tools,.. etc,.. stuff on your browser or tool bar. thoes are spaywares.
do not trust yahoo or google.
Make sure each time you install a free software to check for 3rd partie (spywares) or extra options. never install options, promotions or anything that you wherent looking for in the first place.
and last but not least,.. if theres a pop up,.. make sure you click on the "x". if you dont see an "x" do (Alt +F4) and never, never visit a pop up. especially if it says that they have found a virus on your computer or/and they have the solution.
You need to be on your guards all the time, the internet is a free for all place. Anarchy

If those are trojans then you definitely would would desire to do a scourge test. in case you have not have been given a scourge scanner you may flow to a seek engine and do a seek for 'AVG unfastened virus'.
