My sister in law is being abused verbally and being told what to do and when to do it. She loves her husband very much but I think she doesn't deserve to be treated so badly. She is white and he is black. He is very insecure, but he think he has other girls.

Well to start off you need to talk to your bother and tell him what you have seen and how you feel about it. Tell him that you wouldn't put up with it and neither should she. Would he treat you like that? or your Mom?
You need to let her know that you are there for her and keep a close friendship. Make your house a safe place that she can go. If she wants to go out, you go out with her. Let her build her own confidence, take her shopping buy her some nice cloths that make her feel pretty. Let her be pretty for her husband and that she is the one for him.
Statically most abusive situations occur with people that have little to no self-esteem. If she doesn't have confidence in her self then she won't leave him even if he does hit her. Signs: if she stops talking to you or hanging out that's when you need to force yourself into her life.
Best of luck, I know this must be hard for you but you need to let them both know how you feel. Maybe get the rest of the family and friends involved for support.

You never know she might not even notice that she is being treated badly.

I do not think you or anyone can 'get' someone out of a an abusive realationship. Mostly you can tell her you are there for her and if she needs you you will be there for when ever she needs you.

Other then that I do not think there is much you can do.

That's really a sticky situation but since he's your brother just maybe you could talk to him about how bad he's treating her and how it would be ashame to see her leave him for someone who knows how to treat her.

The only person who can put a stop to it is her. She needs to decide for herself that she's not going to take this anymore and if things don't change, she outta there for good.

Tough situation. Just keep her friendship and be someone she can talk to. Make sure and tell her if he ever hits her to call you, then you call the cops. It's bound to happen if it hasn't already. It probably has and she doesnt' want to tell.

he thinks he has other girls? he does not know? hahaha.
i'd say something right in front of him, like hey stop being such a jerk to her.... or whatever other context you'd like to put it in. let her see that she has an ally in you.
