i press the battery button ( it glows green to say the ipod is charged) yet when i try to press play it glows red and green and wont work, i have never used it so i dont kno whats wrong :(.
and when i try to plug it into the usb port nothng happens, i dont know why that happens either, and i have downloaded n installed all the software. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Go get a new one. If you have a receipt, the store shouldn't give you any problems.

Leave it in the usb, this is where the ipod charges. Leave it in for about four hours then come back. If you have the same problem, go to the store. I have an ipod shuffle and they're so annoying.

A red light on the i pod shuffel means that the i pod has an error and needs to be reset. You do this with the i pod software on the computer. If it does nothing when it is plugged into the computer than it is falty and you should return it to apple for a repairs or replacment
