As suggested by my LFS, I bought the frozen brine shrimp (this is my first puffer pet).

How do I feed this frozen food to my puffer? Do I just drop the block of frozen food to the fish, or do I have to warm it up with some hot water then dump it all in?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

You can do either. What I used to do when feeding frozen is I would take a small net and place the block in the net until it thawed, then swish the now thawed food out of the net for the fish to eat. However, considering the puffer's beak, you may end up with a holy net. You can probably just drop the block in and let the heat of the tank thaw it. I would recommend live brine shrimp however, if you can get it.

You can't warm it up and then refreeze it as suggested in a previous post. You can either attempt to break a hunk off the cube or put the whole thing in. Just remember to remove what ever he doesn't finish about 10-20 minutes after feeding your puffer.

I work at a pet store and have many tanks of my own at home so I speak from experience.

The entire block is too big. Warm up a block and feed about 1/4 of a block every day. Freeze the left over food.

you can either break off a small piece and toss it in the tank or you can just wave the frozen block in the water until enough has fallen off for your fish, then return block to freezer

are they frozen or freeze dried?if their freeze dried just get a tooth pick wet the end,dip it into the shrimp and then put in the water.the water temp should reanimate them and you can see them swimming a round.
