The truth of the matter is this is actually a question of values. It all depends what matters most to you.
Although command economies have been much reviled, they do have certain virtues. When well-administered, these systems are better at eliminating extreme poverty than market economy systems. They also make it easier for governments to promote academia, the arts, such impractical humanistic pursuits as chess, etc...
Market economies, on the other hand, have proved more efficient at creating wealth, albeit at the price of a wider chasm between rich and poor. They also foster a greater variety of products and are widely more efficient at distributing these goods to the consumers. They have also proved better at encouraging technological innovation.
Personally, I would rather not live under either of these systems in their extreme forms. Pure capitalism and pure communism have never existed in history, but some markets have come close. The best systems come from governments that are moderate and pursue a number of goals in a balanced, rational manner. (Although very much capitalistic, the U.S. economy is still strongly influenced by federal and state government decisions, in every domain from taxation to health and environmental regulations, as well as a number of government programs that are inspired by a more social vision.)

Command economy is better than market economy. With regards to the former, producers manufature only the quantity and quality of products at the command of supply and demand of the community. Hence, there would be less surplus to be discarded in the waste vault. While market economy, producers or sellers flood the market too much items to choose from, leaving the unsaleable ones to the thrust.

The Market economy, because the consumers decide what happens. A command economy would be like Communism, and in the wrong hands it could be horrible.
