well each have advantages and disavantages.. if you want sometime rather simple then gas is the way to go.. however gas engines don't last quite as long as diesel.. diesel engines are made stronger since they have a higher combustion rate and therefore are worked harder. Diesel requires that you preheat it, but nowdays they have made them so most engines have warmers in them. I really depeneds where you live. For long distance traveling I would say diesel.. for city or town.. gas..

Put Diesel fuel in a car with a diesel engine, gasoline in a car with a gasoline engine otherwise they will not run!
Define "best"!
Are you asking should you get a car with a diesel engine or a gasoline engine?
Diesels are harder to start in cold weather.
Most people in the USA get cars with gasoline engines.

i use diesel for work and just getting around because my car runs on vegetable oil and i can go around 500-600 miles on 4 or 5 gallons of diesel most of the time but i use gas if i want to drive fast or race people in my other car

I prefer diesel for the milage factor.. you can run a diesel a lot longer than a gas powewred car.. diesel is more sturdy when taken care of properly.. gas engines wear down because of the high temps. Diesel just last longer
