If you mean "efficient", then yes. He's dead, so it worked.
If you mean "appropriate", then no.
The proceedings rushed his execution way too much. He was most likely going to die anyway, but the least that could've been done was to give him the time span he was facing in the first place. It would've been the noble thing to do, and would've placed his executioners a little higher on the "Dignity" scale, as well as the ever-present, ever-pressuring U.S. Government.
Saddam was aprehended as a prisoner of war. In his case, since he was a countries leader and faced various charges of crime against humanity, it was up to an IMPARTIAL, INTERNATIONAL court of law to conduct his trial, NOT Iraq, NOT the U.S.
Also the U.S. was very eager to aid in the process of indictment, charges, accusations, and investigation, but quickly said they could do nothing when Saddam's lawyers tried to appeal the decision to speed up the execution.
There was indeed a violation of rights and lack of transparency in this most notorious event.
Bush continues to place the U.S. on vulnerable ground.
Terrorists went a long way to make September 11 work.
I have the feeling that next time they'll outdo themselves.
Anyway, take care.
Peace and love.
Happy holidays.

I don't understand that there was a 'given time' other than 'within the next 30 days.'

No. I believe the govenrment should stop killing people, they don't learn from their mistakes then and they don't regret, they die a usually quick death. I feel people who do horrible things such as rape, murder, steal, etc should be sent to prison somewhere really hot OR really cold, and suffre, working outside, digging ditches in horrible conditions. When you suffre because of what you've done, you often regret it.

As far as hangings go this was probably the most warranted hanging in the history of hanging.

He's dead - therefore the hanging was done correctly.
