I just purchased a new emachines computer today. It came in a package with the keyboard + mouse + printer + speakers included. My speakers aren't working! I tried a pair of old speakers i had lying around and they don't work either. Is there a problem with my computer? Help!

check all connections make sure every thing is plugged in correctly then take a quick peep at the book to make sure your mother board supports sound,next reboot computer hit F2 enter bios and make sure its set correctly and last of all go to windows update and update the sound card and drivers
then call the company and cry and scream if all else fails!!

First common mistake, make sure your speaker plug is in the right hole in the back of the computer. Now look in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, do you see a mini picture of a speaker near the time? If so, double click on it and make sure none of the blocks are checked (checked blocks means the sound is muted). No speaker picture next to the time, do this. Click on Start, then choose Control Panel, and once it opens, click on Sound and Audio Devices, make sure the mute box is unchecked.

if all the plug ins are right sounds like maybe defective sound card in the computer make sure everythings plugged in so many times people forget the easiest thing as pluggin them into the wall.

if you have windows try this:
click the start icon at the bottom left hand side of your screen
find all progams
then go to accessories
then entertainment
then click volume control see if they didnt MUTE your comp.
