Can anybody suggest an audition song?

Question

I am auditioning for Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella at the end of May, and I would like suggestions for songs to sing that are not from the show. I plan to audition for the part of one of the stepsisters, so I would like a song that fits those characters. I am a mezzo-soprano. the audition for this show is going to be right after performing in Miss Saigon, so I would like to start looking for songs now. Thanks for all of your help. Also information on obtaining sheet music will also be helpful.

A great suggestion would be Ado Annie's number from "Oklahoma!". "I Cain't Say No." It's the same type of "fun" R&H character song in the same vein as "Stepsisters' Lament", and would probably fit your vocal range. Any of Annie's songs from "Annie Get Your Gun" would probably work well for you too. Try "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun". If you're auditioning for the stepsister roles, either of these songs will show off your character acting ability as well as your vocal ability.

You'll probably want to sing another Rogers and Hammerstein song. Try:

"Don't Marry Me" from Flower Drum Song (mezzo/baritone duet, comedic, I don't think it'd be too weird for you to sing both parts in the mezzo range)
"Whistle a Happy Tune" or "Shall I Tell You What I Think of You?" from The King and I (mezzo solos)
"All 'Er Nuthin'" from Oklahoma (mezzo/baritone duet)
"Everybody's Got a Home But Me" from Pipe Dream
"******** Optimist" or "I'm In Love With a Wonderful Guy" from South Pacific
