My wife and I think the weather, oceans, people and predominantly English speaking country would be a tremendous place to settle down. However, since we are halfway across the globe and basically clueless about your land, any information about where to live, how much money one needs and basic living information would be appreciated. Thank you!

I live in Maitland NSW Australia and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
I would love to live near the ocean full time but I don't want to give up the house I have now its too good.

Sydney is where a lot of people go into the city, however its a lot more expensive.

I live near Newcastle NSW the ocean is right there 30 minutes from where I live now. Its prices for rents and homes are cheaper and its only 11/2 hrs from Sydney

Another nice place is around the lake Warner's Bay area fairly close to Newcastle as well costs a few more dollars though worth it if you have it.

If you are going to rent at first they vary from $180 a week upwards to executive prices in this area any way

My electricity is usually about $300 every 3 months

Its a great way of life over here Good luck hope you make it here.

we lived in Adelaide which is South Australia and recently moved to Western Australia. Adeliade is very quite and not much to do WA is like a bit country town but with all the facilities of city living - we love it over here we are both in late 40's and are building our own home - starting over in another state with no contacts is hard but we are making new friends the beaches are great over here and culturally is very diverse weith I think everyy nationality here if you dont like a lotof different rac es then wa is out but queensland is the same wheather pattern and is very white australian but has all the site etc to keep you busy or laze back as you wish - Victoria is faced paced and very modern - Sydney is a rat race with nothing such as slow depends on what sort of lifestyle you are actually after

Stay away from Newcastle (unless you like heavy industry).
