Allen Luden was the host of Password.
On a side note: Luden was married to Betty White (of Golden Girls' and The Mary Tyler Moore Show fame).

ok, allen ludden was the host of password for the 60's and 70's. however, he was not immediately replaced by bert convy. in 1980, ludden suffers a massive stroke and is replaced by his best for of years and years tom kennedy. sadly, ludden passes later that year and kennedy keeps job on password plus till its cancellation in 1982. 1986 comes and convy takes over till 1989 on super password. take care and happy new year all:).
