No its not unhealthy at all, like a lady said on here, it has alot of iron in it, but all the excess vitamins will secrete in your urine. So dont be alarmed if you wake up one morning and see that your urine is neon yellow or maybe some different colors.
The only thing that I have been reading about is the Vitamin A in it. Its not water souluble and doesnt pass easily through urine, if prenatals are taken in excess then there is a risk of Vitamin A poisoning.
There are also other vitamins on the market specifically just for the growth of your hair and nails. Maybe check into those as well. I know I have seen them at my local walmart.
Just in case talk with your physician or a pharmicist and ask there recomendation.

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to take them, after all pregnant women take them. They also continue to take them after the baby is born. The only concern I would have would be ur iron intake, u should watch that because u can over do it with taking iron. Another thing, and I don't know if this affects women whom aren't pregnant, but when I was pregnant with both of my boys, the pre-natal vitamins made me sick. So if they do make u sick, take them at night.

Probably as long as you are having a regular mensus it should not be a problem the pre natal vitamins have a level of iron higher than what you should have but women can loose that in their monthly mensus. Iron generally builds up in the body.

Pre natals are great to take any time! They have a few extras that normal vitamins don't have enough of....if you are pregnant; like folic acid. Females in childbearing age need the extras!

It's not unhealthy but that's not why pregnant ladies hair grows!
When you are pregnant, your body stops producing the amino acid that normally regulates the 100 or so hairs you lose a day, so you're at full capacity with your hair folicles.

Prenatal vitamins just have extra of some vitamins. They cannot hurt you unless you take more than the recommend amount. I know people that have taken these for years.

it isnt unhealthy--actually they may be better for you because there are 'extras' in there to nourish pregnant women--
but it isnt the prenatal vitamins that make a pregnant womans hair and nails grow, lol--it is the additional hormones, etc that her body is producing.

No it's not unhealthy to take them, you body will get rid of whatever it doesn't need AKA what you're already giving it from the food you eat. It may help your hair but it's no guarantee.
