I have been working at Domino's Pizza a few months now, and I make minimum wage... let alone I drive my own personal vehical, (I pay over $500 a month for, other drivers have cars that are junkers and paid off, yet the maintenance costs are high, I have already seen two drivers have to buy another used car). I do live off these tips, but I'd say more then 50% do not tip at all, another 30% say keep the change ie. .12¢, .21¢, .84¢, 15% tip $1 to $2 and only %5 are the one who actually tip 15% of the total paid. I know this is not going to reach all the poeple in the world let alone my delievery area, but I just wanted to let the world know what we actually make.
They do pay us at the end of the night our tips and miliage up front in cash, but it is taxed on our paystubs.
Miliage varies you only get paid by runs, one delivery is .95¢ and the second delivery is .40¢ at the end of an 8 hour shift I may walk away with $10 but need $20 to fill my tank.

I put roughly 100 miles a day on my 2005 Honda CR-V and upwards of 2000 a month. I don't get paid the government standard of travel by miles driven which includeds possible maintenance, I have to do an oil change about every 6 weeks, soon I may need to do more. So as you see I get paid minimum wage to tear up my car which the tips will be what will have to cover maintenance costs and have to go back in my tank, that or my puny $300 check may cover, mst drivers are struggling young adult's trying to make it through college with a flexable schedule job.
So how much do you tip the driver?
15% is standard waitress/waiter tips, 10% is average for carry out at any resturant with drive up, like Apple Bee's and Fudruckers, but what do you pay someone who is driving their personal vehical and putting more cost out there then their $5.15 pay can afford?
Most think we didn't serve them all night and attend to thier needs like a wiatress, but we are Driving to your HOUSE with your Dinner!

Late, lol, the whole reason we are running at times of 45 minutes and upwards now a days is the fact no one in there right mind wants to tear up there personal vehical for those punny wages also gas prices have risen, the pizza industry is dieing slowly, I worked for dominos 10 years ago as a manager, we were fully staffed at all times and had people banging down the doors to get a driver job, it made good tips and gas was cheap, now gas is high and minimum wage hasn't risen in almost ten years, we can't even find drivers, we have drivers who are stealing from the store right now and somw who take an hour to deliver a pizza because they get lost, but we can't fire them because they are all we have, we have to suck it up... at my store to run effienciently we need 15 drivers I think we have 7, one steals and one is slow, the rest are pretty good as drivers, but no one ever asks for a job at all it has been months since we had an applicant
