I don't care who as long as they know what they're actually doing and will contribute to making the world a better place instead of pretending to for their own benefits

Newt. He was Speaker of the House. He's a brilliant historian. He's a prolific writer in all the pithy papers, authoring books such as:
To Renew America
Contract with America
Never Call Retreat
Winning the Future: A 21st Century Contract with America
Saving Lives & Saving Money
Newt formulates the most level options to decrease our problems in Iraq than any I've heard or read. While Speaker of the House, he has led Congress to victories laying foundations which we use to this day.

Absolutly not me (In response to Talor's answer) ! You have to be somewhat masochistic to be a major leader in the present days. No matter what party you belong to and no matter how much you try to defend your people's sorry a$$es you are going to be dragged through mud and slime. You will be called a thug, a thief, a murderer, a dictator, a racist, a Hitler, a cheater, a heathen, a religious nut, a rapist, the anti-christ, a conspirator, a devil worshipper, etc....
You'd have to be nuts! Which means that we have no hope of being lead by a sane person! All that put aside, I'd like to see Rudy as our next president.

Someone like the Jimmy Smits character on the OVAL OFFICE.
I would like someone from a modest background, who has no ties to anyone in government or big business. I'd like someone with integrity and morals. I'd like someone who is not corruptible!! I would like someone INTELLIGENT.
But, I'm afraid that those qualities preclude anyone from actually running for office because the whole idea of politics is so evil and dirty these days.
edit: This gets thumbs down??? I mean, you WANT stupid, lying, easily-bought-off presidents??? Well, if so, I guess you get what you deserve.

Me, silly!
Actually, I wouldn't want to be president. That would be a very stressful job.
Anyone extremely wise, intelligent, and who would know what they're doing and have experience in things like this.
Our country/world doesn't need to be screwed up more than it already is.

No one I have seen running for the job. I would like to see one of these people, that are always complaining about the government, run it for awhile. Someone like Chucky & Lucky. See how they stood up to 50% of the country hating them. He would last like a snowball in hades, then someone would use him for target practice.
