I use a black liquid eyeliner. I like Maybelline or Mary Kate and Ashley. I line underneath my eyelashes with it. It doesn't matter if you get it perfect or not. i always used to use a qtip to perfect mine before I was a pro. lol Just keep practicing. The qtip always works great though.

STEP 1: Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.
STEP 2: Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.
STEP 3: Prepare a cake liner or a dark eye shadow by applying a small amount of water to your brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.
STEP 4: Move the wet brush gently through your cake liner or dark shadow. Hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.
STEP 5: Tilt your head back slightly and bring your eyes to a half-open state. This creates a good angle for application, while allowing you to see what you're doing.
STEP 6: Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.
STEP 7: If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your brush, a cotton swab or your finger.
STEP 8: Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoonlike.

Ok. Since you're late on the makeup do NAWT use liquid liner, it's hard to put on for first timers. Use an eyeliner pencil. Let's Start: First, Run the pencil above the upper lid and right near the lash line. It's best to only line it directly above where the lashes are growing. DO NAWT draw a line near the corner of your eye. Next, When you've accomplished the lining smudge the line a little with a foam rubber smudger that may be on one end of your liner. Smudging it softens some of the harshness the line may have, in other words, you blend the line in a little so it dosen't look like a distinct line. If you dont have the smudger, use a Q-tip. Lastly, after you line and smudge, use a small pointy brush and run a coat of the dark eyeshadow over the eyeliner. Do this if the line looks like it stands out too much, it softens it and is a "must do" step for liquid liner. xoxo, The True Beauty Team

Using eyeliner depends on your eye creases on top. Avoid using thick lines if you have small creases this will only make your eyes smaller. Eye liner is suppose to make your lashes appear thicker. Start by drawing a thin line close as possible to you lashes following the natural arch of your eye, going from the inside corner of your eye towards the outside corner. You can add more later if you want a thicker line. Another rule is it should be more dramatic on top than the bottom. You should also line two thirds or half of your bottom eye because lining it all the way will also make your eyes appear smaller. Start by lining your bottom going form the outside corner of your eye towards the inside. If you have oily skin or your eyeliner always seem to "smear" then a great tip is to take a q tip and put some toner on it. Then being careful not to get the toner in your eye, use the toner to wipe off the excess oil. This will prevent the eyeliner from smearing.
Hope this helps =]

Sharpen the pencil but not too pointy. Stay close to the lash, starting at the inside part of the eye and going towards the outer part and make a thin line on the top lid but make one line; don't keep going over it like you're drawing a picture. Then, take a q-tip and smudge it all the way across once. You can do the bottom the same way but start at the outside and only go about a quarter of the way in. Smudge. Don't go all the way to the inside unless you are really going dramatic.

use an eyeliner pencil (IT HAS TO BE SHARPENED W/ A TIP) then you pull your eyelid where your eye lashes are to the corner, away from your nose, then apply trying not to go over it again. They also sell black and brown powder eyeliner, It comes with a really THIN applicator. It helps to go over your eyeliner with this as well. After practice/perfection, it absolutely looks beautiful. Mainly any color except brown eyes this would really bring out the color of your eyes. Brown eyes with dark around the eyes seems to blend in instead of standing out.

Use a good eyeliner, like clinique.
First, draw a line from almost the inside of your eyelid to the outside.
Then, smudge the line...just blend it a little. This will make your eyes seem darker but it isnt so heavy and ugly that just the eyeliner stands out.

Personally - I think its all about practice. It took me forever to get it down, but you just have to work with it. Make sure your hand is steady when you're applying it (... rest your elbow on the counter or something)... I think the biggest thing that helps, is the kind of tip you're using... If you're using a pencil, make sure it isn't dull, and pick a good eyeliner that will glide easily. Personally - i like liquid eyeliner.. it stays all day and doesn't smear, but it takes even more practice. I would use Physician's Formula - Eye Marker. Its SUPER easy to use, and glides on perfectly.

This is from my wife:
Use a smudgeable pencil--MAC has really good ones. Only use it on the top lids because raccoon eyes can look really heavy. Take you time and blend it with your finger. Be patient--eyeliner is a beeyotch.
Good luck.

It depends on whether u use liquid or pencil. if you want a stronger look, use the liquid, if u want a softer look, use the pencil, or you can use both and you can make ur eyes look really pretty. it also depends on whether u line the inside rims of ur eyes or not. My suggestion is to use a pencil on the inner rims of ur eyes, and make a thin line on ur upper eyelid. you can ret ur arm on a table to make ur hand more steady when applying the liquid. it just takes practice, u will get the hang of it!
