Oh, yes. A few years back I was in an abusive relationship and it took time to face up to it and do something about it. Now, I'm out of it and I'm so much happier.

The facts if presented right as "The Truth" sometimes can be reassuring and at other times be life changing due to the severity of the fact.
Human Sin when disclosed can be always hurtful especially when it is the truth. Just remember we are not held accountable for our parents sins nor they our sins, but sometimes learning the facts can have a life long impression on us, sort of like having to cover a wound with clean bandages every day. Leaning on God and Jesus helps the HURT but sometimes it will never go away as man perceives it. But In our Father's eyes... God's.... it is wiped clean.
