There is a small cooling fan on the condenser sometimes the fan can get something caught in it and stop it. You can usually get it going again. there are many other reasons also.

Mine did this too, gradually. I found it may have been due to being left open a little one day. door didn't shut. I took it apart and noticed the flapper inside at back behind drawers that lets the air circulate was broken. more looking showed that the freezer side was so frozen with ice it covered the hole completely. I cleared the ice and it got cold again. The problem was a sensor went out. we had a guy come fix it from sears after buying a sears maitnence.

Well, first I'll state the obvious...have you checked the power source? I mean check that the plug is in the outlet and check that the breaker is on. Those two things aside...it could be anything from a wiring issue to a broken thermostat. If the fridge is more than 10 years old it will cost more to repair it than it's worth. Just break down and buy a new one. If the fridge is fairly new, check and see if it's under any kind of warranty. Then see about getting it repaired.

You may need a new cooling element or thermostat in it. I would check that out first. I don't know anything about refrigerators, so that's just a guess. Best of luck. Hope you find the problem.

For 1 is it just the refrigerator???? If it is and the freezer is still working, it could just be that your drain plug in the back of the freezer is completely frozen. If this is the case. Clean out the freezer take a regular hair drier turn it on and sit it in the back of your freezer for about 20 min. This happened to me last summer and they charged me 100 bucks to stick a hair drier in my freezer so try this if the freezer still works.

It could just need cleaned out (the back). Sometimes a lot of dust gets back there and it's hard for the fridge to do it's job. If that doesn't work then you might need some Freon.

Has it been doing well prior to that or had it been getting gradually worse?
Is the compressor running? Is the fan on the outside of the compressor running?
If it came on suddenly and compressor plus fan are running, non stop, it could be that the self-defroster is stuck on.

I am not an expert in the field, but it doesn't sound cool...
I think it is broken, because it is suppose to be cold.

IF IT'S A DEFROST FREE-TRY UNPLUGGING IT FROM WALL CLEAN THE BACKSIDE OF IT. LEAVE IT UNPLUGGED FOR @8HRS. AND THEN TRY PLUGGING IT BACK IN. YOU SHOULD BE O.K. SOMETIMES YOUR LINE WILL FREEZE UP.
