Get ahold of one called FLCL. (That's right, just the letters FLCL.)
It's a six episode series. Everything about it is top of the line, especially the music, by The Pillows. You can find it on DVD or watch for it on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network, where they decide to show it every month or so.

Astroboy. THE original Anime from the 1960's by the master Tezuka. Everything else derived from it, watch 'em and you'll see why. None of this whorish color either. All in lively black and white.
