because they can't handle the truth!!!!

Some people might like being lied to because they are not strong enough to handle the truth... or they just want to believe the best possible situation... I personally would rather handle the way things are and deal with reality than be lied to! When my kids lie to me it is the worst thing for me ever... They know that it would be better for them to tell me the honest truth and face the consequences than to lie to me and have me find out later! I could never lie to anyone, especially my parents! I still cannot lie to anyone, it just doesn't come out right for me at all... ;0) I have no ability (or poker face) to cover a lie!

I don't think anyone likes being lied to. I think that we have to tell "Little white" lies to our loved ones to get them by. To maybe make them feel better and then there r the lies where they have to know the Truth....thats where family and friends come in...L

actually, most people don't like being lied to. turns out, most people just don't find any better choice than to just to let a lie pass. most especially when it comes to personal relationships - especially to avoid petty arguments. you can also see it as letting your love for another person rule versus your own pride. this is difficult, but some people i guess are able to do it by rationalizing the good motives or emotions behind the other person's lies.

It's not that people like being lied to, it's that people like being told what they want to hear. Big difference.

I personallly do not like being lied to. But some folks may like it because they don't want to hear the truth about something dealing with themselves that may not be so appealing to them. And sometimes the truth can be difficult to handle or accept and it's better for them not to deal with the truth. - I hope I just made sense.

I for one do not like it, It show lack of respect for me, and the person lying, But you are also right, when people ask questions that they already know the answer to and want to see if you will be honest or tell the truth, A lot of people do not want the truth, they want you to confirm their wishes rather than crushing them with the truth. I also hate being put in that position, because I do not like to hurt but I also do not buy in to wishful thinking

at times it is better to be lied to. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie liar liar but he says in there that at times lies are good. his example was his wife asked how she looked when she was pregnant and he said you look good hunnie. now if he said she looked like a big fat cow he would of been in trouble. other than that if some one lies and its not for the better i have no clue!

I think people like being lied to because the truth is hard. It's harder to find the truth than simply whitewashing it. Truth is usually disturbing and hard to come to grips with.
