He could have possibly been talking about a reality TV show called "The Hills" on MTV starring Lauren Conrad (LC) and others. You probably looked like someone on the show, they are all very pretty, so it's most likely a compliment!

Could have meant one of two thing as far as I can tell. One would be "Are you from Beverly Hills?" your classy, or maybe he thought you were high class. The other would be "Are You mountain folk?" As in the hills of Virginia, hillbilly's,unlearned, unsophisticated. So not being there I can't say what he was implying.

He was probably asking you if you were from a rural or country area. I live in an area like that and I tell everyone I live in "the sticks" , which seems like the equivilent to "the hills".
