We can never really be sure whether a decision was good or bad because we will never see an end to the chain of consequences that it caused. Our opinion of a given will change over time, and it may end up that a decision which we considered bad soon after, and which caused us much pain, ends up teaching us an important lesson that changes the trajectory of our life for the better.
Then again, sometimes it's better to wait and deliberate rather than to plunge forward. Probably need to consider the possible consequences: could it cause death? Jail-time? Permanent disability? If that's the case, should take some more time to think it through. On the other hand, if the worst that can happen is that you aren't quite happy with your meal, that the movie wasn't so great, or that your wife is a little heavier than you were hoping for, then you may as well make the decision rather than screwing around. As for the various things inbetween, it depends on the situation.

A bad decision is defined as one that is worse than no decision. Otherwise, it should be called a wrong decision. Yes, sometimes a wrong decision can be corrected in future but a no decision often leads to time passing out leaving no further options to rectify. But not so always... sometimes we let the time pass without a decision and some change happens thereafter and we find on hindsight that our not having made a decision proved to be a boon in disguise.
In fact postponing a decisive action for sometime in itself is an important decision we need to take often!!
Life is never simple.... there are no straight and definite answers at all due to complexities and inconsistencies!!

It all depends on what that decision and situation. I personally think that not making a decision is better than making a bad one, but then again, you don't even know what the outcome will be when you make certain decisions, so it could go both ways.

How about this?
Life is a living. Sometime it base on many choices that you have to make. Sometime you have to make a decision for your best. Good or bad decisions at the end, you can use them as your experience to go on with your life.

No! For example, a good friend of mine married a total loser! He hates women and is abusive. I would think it would have been better for her to not have married him at all.
Also, sometimes I think when you don't make a decision at all, you actually ARE making a decision. When you choose to do nothing, like stay in a marriage or a job that you don't like for example, then you have made a decision, albeit a passive decision. For example, I'm looking at houses right now and can't find one I really like, so I'm still living in my old house (literally cause it's 100 years old!). So in a way because I can't decide on a new house, I'm deciding I like the old house I'm living in now better than the new houses I'm looking at. You are always deciding something even when it seems like you are not making a decision.

We don't know it's a "bad" decision until after the fact. If we knew it wasn't good (or right), we wouldn't make it.
But if we make no decision at all, how are we to tell whether it's bad or good? And how are we ever to learn the right decision if we don't at least try? If it turns out to be wrong, and we learn by our lesson, we'll make the right one the next time.

NO not if it is going to get you into trouble or start any. Any bad decision is just that bad. You don't have to always make up you mind on something. You can stay were you don't oppose something or you are for something. Don't make bad decisions. Just make them good ones.

No, not necessarily. It depends on what you have to decide. If you don't make the bad decision, you're still making a decision. You've decided to maintain the status quo (leave things as they are). That's still a decision.

YES! The pain of regret about making a bad decision is not as bad as the pain of regret of never having made up your mind and having basically evaded the situation. At least when you make a bad one, it's possible to learn what you did wrong and why it was bad -- if you never decide you only get to learn what a coward you can be.
